Ceramic Protection Care tips

Now that your car has been ceramic coated with MaxxiTech, it is important to note these things:

• There is a massive misconception in the general population when it comes to ceramic coatings whereby they think once they coat their car it will be maintenance-free. While coatings do make a car easier to clean, it certainly does not mean you can now just neglect it.
• The methods you use to wash your car after it has been treated with a coating can have a direct effect on how the coating will perform and how long it will maintain its looks and protective properties.
• Give the ceramic coating 7 days to cure and harden. You need to give the coating time to fully cure on your vehicle. If you wash or otherwise agitate the surface of the paintwork, it can drastically inhibit the curing process of the product.

Here are some tips to extend the lifespan of MaxxiTech Ceramic Protection

1. Wash Your Car Every Two Weeks

Whether you use your car daily or occasionally, you still need to wash your car every two weeks. Regular washing will help avoid the build-up of contaminants. It’s very important to use a high pressure hose to remove as much residual dirt from car paint surfaces BEFORE you wash with a clean microfiber cloth. 

2. Do Not Wash the Vehicle in Direct Sunlight

Ideally it is best to wash your car out of direct sunlight, so the washed surfaces are cooler. This will help avoid water spots and ensure an optimum finish.

3. Use premium MaxxiTech Car Shampoo

Use a quality PH Neutral car shampoo as these shampoos are automotive-specific products that do not contain harsh abrasives, chemical agents or other contaminants.

4. Implement Safe Wash & Drying Methods

When washing your car, always ensure you wash from the top to the bottom. This allows sediment and suds to fall away from the vehicle and its polished surfaces. Don’t allow grit or contaminants to get caught up in the wash mitt as this will create scratches and unwanted marks. Rinse your wash mitt thoroughly and regularly. In the drying process try to go as “touchless”as possible, use your garden leaf blower to blow off the water ( where possible ) walking around your vehicle blowing from top of roof downwards, being careful not to touch the tip of the blower to the paint surface. 

5. Always Use Separate Wash Buckets and Mitts for Wheels

Brake dust is microscopic pieces of metal shavings that your tyres and wheels collect. So don’t let these tiny pieces of metal get in contact with your ceramic coat by simply using a different wash mitt.

Avoid the following: Bird or bat droppings, tree sap or pollen on the car while baking in the sun; and any kind of chemical or mechanical abrasive on the paint (e.g. polish, clay bar)
